A Day in the Life as a Dealer Representative

What is a Dealing Representative (DR)?

A Dealing Representative is a person who is registered with one or more securities commissions that conducts know-your-customer (KYC) conversations and assesses an individual’s suitability for an investment. As a Dealing Representative with Parvis, an Exempt Market Dealer specializing in private real estate investments, I work directly with investors to guide them through opportunities in the exempt market. If you're curious about what this means or how I can support your investment journey, read on.

What is my background, and how did I end up working in private markets?

My background spans media, communications, and marketing, with experience in Paris, London, San Francisco, and now Vancouver. I began my career in fashion and lifestyle journalism before transitioning into digital marketing, working with startups, agencies, and established companies across fintech, healthtech, and consumer brands.

Over time, I became increasingly drawn to the world of private markets, particularly how capital is raised. This led me to specialize in investor marketing and eventually pursue registration as a Dealing Representative. Today, I combine my storytelling and strategy expertise with regulatory knowledge to help investors access high-quality private investment opportunities.

How does working with a DR benefit investors?

Working with a Dealing Representative gives investors access to a registered professional who executes transactions in line with industry regulations and the exempt dealer’s compliance policies. DRs also serve as a key point of contact, providing timely, accurate information on market activity, investment products, and services, while ensuring client account details remain up to date.

What can I expect when working with you when investing on the Parvis platform?

I provide personalized guidance and access to a curated selection of exclusive investment opportunities on our platform. I’ll help you navigate the investment process, ensure your suitability, and address any questions you have.

Why do Dealing Representatives have to ask for personal financial information?

In order to conduct a complete KYC and assess suitability, I must understand your financial and non-financial assets and liabilities, as well as your investment objectives, time horizon, risk tolerance, and other relevant details.

Ultimately, my goal is to assist you in finding investments that align with your financial goals and provide exceptional support throughout your investment journey.
